In this early 18th-century ink and wash drawing attributed to Raja Ram Singh, a royal figure rides an elephant with measured stillness. The animal moves forward in a steady stride, trunk lifted, tusks curving gently, while the rider and attendants remain poised, alert, and unhurried.
